• klondike

In this absurdist play devised by Erin Davis and Cas Berta for CompanyOne’s VoltLab — Two ex-lovers drive from Arizona to Nevada to procure a legal abortion. The desert haze thickens, the blood moon rises, and their entangled past emerges as they confront the question: what would you do for a klondike bar?

  • The Chariot Reversed

Written in collaboration with Julia Hertzberg as our STAMP Senior Thesis

On a hot summer night outside of a sweaty concert, lovers Yara and Syd break up after watching local indie soft girl, basement concert hottie: Bailey Martin (👽) perform; throwing their friend group-and future living plans- into chaos and destruction. 🧍🏻‍♀️Will these bitches pull their shit together in time to figure out their living situation next year or will they finally have to move on and move out? 😵‍💫 With queer people, you never know who might kiss or take their shirt off 🥵🥵 or if your ex will be your bestie or your nemesis 😈😈 or what may happen at the next karaoke night 🗣

  • honeyhole

Originally produced as part of Boston University’s Season of New Work in 2020, honeyhole takes place in a small town in South Georgia in the hotsweatyheat of a southern summer. honeyhole follows a young queer beauty queen’s journey with self-realization, first love, and her desire to fly away. When new-girl Ellis arrives in town, Lou begins to realize that the thing her mama has always thought would be her ticket to a bigger life outside of a few-stoplight-gossipy-sorta-town, might just be the thing that’s holding her back from becoming who she is, who she wants to be, and what she dreams of doing: hiking the Appalachian Trail like her father once did.

I do freelance dramaturgy work btw!!

As a dramaturg, Erin is just as much a friend, advocate, and accomplice for the play as they are a keen and honest eye towards content, structure, and cultural references. They understands how form and structure serve storytelling, and have a great eye for what new research rabbit holes to go down that will enhance the world of the play. But most importantly, Erin is a delight to work with! She’s tough and tender, an empathetic listener, and willing to roll up her sleeves and do beat-by-beat suggestions, all for the love of new work. If you have an opportunity to work with Erin... you absolutely should.
